Injury, illness, and exposure to stressors can lead to significant difficulties with cognition. These cognitive difficulties have a wide range of causes and manifestations, and can have major impacts on individuals experiencing them. This means that understanding and effectively treating a particular injury, illness, or exposure means assessing its cognitive effects. ANAM, a tablet- and PC-based automated cognitive test platform, is a key tool in helping measure the cognitive effects of stressors. This data can then be used to more effectively make informed, safe, and effective treatment decisions.
Why ANAM?
ANAM and UltraMobile allow for the granular testing of various cognitive domains, as well as comparisons to baselines and normative samples. In a clinical setting, this means that practitioners can use these tools to understand and track the cognitive effects of illnesses and interventions on both individual and group bases. Particularly in the case of interventions, it’s easy to establish patient baselines that can be compared pre- and post-intervention. When a baseline is not available, we offer access to basic normative samples that can be categorized by age, sex, and other factors, and we can also assist with the creation of a custom dataset to more specifically evaluate distinct populations.
ANAM can also theoretically be used to identify positive changes in performance as a result of training or medical intervention. UltraMobile can also be used for purposes beyond cognitive health, guiding care providers through patient encounters for scenarios as diverse as COVID-19 and surgical procedures.

ANAM and UltraMobile include questionnaires assessing mood, general and brain injury symptoms, post-traumatic stress symptoms, and sleepiness. ANAM is also the only widely used cognitive test with simple reaction time, arguably the most sensitive to some brain injuries. UltraMobile also includes additional clinical care pathways covering everything from general medicine and cognitive health to HIV management and malaria care.

Secure
- Options for data communication include secure transmission over networks, cloud-based data aggregation in Microsoft SQL Server, or direct/wire-only data sharing/data extract capabilities for the most secure situations.
- Unconnected mode for tablets permit all testing to be conducted locally with a secure database and transmitted only when protocol permits.
- All data on tablets have AES 128 or AES 256-bit encryption.
