Use History & Highlights

ANAM customers come from government, industry, medical, and research institution settings. Government customers include the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), National Laboratories, National Institutes of Health (NIH), as well as international military organizations including the New Zealand Defense Technology Agency and the Singapore DSO National Laboratories. 

 

Highlights

  • The U.S. military has used ANAM for pre-deployment baselines and post-injury return-to-duty since 2008, with over 3.75 million assessments conducted.  
  • Starting in 2024, as part of the DoD Brain Health Initiative, all service members undergo ANAM testing upon entry into military service, with follow-up assessments conducted every 3 to 5 years based on service branch and individual risk profile. 
  • Vista LifeSciences collaborated with U.S. Special Operations in the development of the mobile version of ANAM, UltraMobile.  
  • ANAM was the first cognitive test with military normative data cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration in a new device category created in 2015, and maintains FDA clearances for concussion and cognitive change.
